About Us
Who is Beyond Boulder Adventures?
Beyond Boulder Adventures is run by long-time Boulder local, Wendy Kerr, who began leading bike tours in 1999 and has since led adventures around Colorado, Hawaii and Costa Rica. She is passionate about sustainable tourism and bike infrastructure and has worked in planning, events, advocacy, marketing, partnerships and fundraising for both of those initiatives. Wendy enjoys nothing more than crafting events and experiences that make it easy for her guests to connect with one another and the amazing places we visit. She delights in getting to know people and figuring out how she can make their day. She also loves speaking Spanish and has enjoyed sharing that passion as a teacher for several years.

Our Support Crew
Our guides are equally fun, friendly and awesome in their own unique ways. Among our small but mighty team of guides you will find a Boulder Mountain Parks naturalist, a local Boulder bike activist and environmental consultant, an avid mountain biker and international mountain climber, a freelance sports cameraman and bike mechanic, an Argentina wine importer, a certified child whisperer, and several craft beer snobs.
We are also lucky to have a behind-the-scenes team that, despite being very part-time, is super-dedicated to our work and our mission to foster real connections and support the well-being of the broader community. Kainoa Kerr (the owner's son) is our coding and AI expert, Michael Rosenzweig is our "Marketing Handyman", and our legal counsel comes from Milgrom, Daskam & Ellis (a Public Benefit Corporation, or B-Corp).
We care deeply about this community and take measures to protect Boulder's wildlife, local economy and bike infrastructure by supporting local non-profits, partnering with local businesses, and working hard to inspire our guests to marvel at the wonders all around us. Let us know if you would be interested in combining a fun bike ride with some volunteer work and tours at some inspiring local organizations!
Community Support
We are committed to supporting the well-being of this amazing community, which is a big part of why we feature many of local businesses and organizations in our tours.
Besides bringing business to our community partners, we also donate to the following non-profits.
-
People for Bikes: works to improve bike infrastructure, policy and participation in the US, such as green lanes, safe routes to school and support for Boulder’s own great bike path network.
-
Community Cycles: increases bicycle access, maintenance education and advocacy in Boulder and beyond. Wendy volunteered here when she first moved to Boulder, which taught her so much about bike mechanics and the benefit of subsidized bike equipment both for her own family and the larger community.
-
Boulder Food Rescue: rescues and redistributes otherwise wasted produce from grocery stores and take it by bike to communities living on a low income across Boulder. Wendy has been one of BFR’s volunteer bike couriers for years, which she loves because it's such a tangible and healthy way to contribute to our community.
-
There with Care: serving families in Boulder with children in a medical crisis with many basic needs, such as food, supplies, transportation, and even home repair and hotel stays. If you are looking for a truly impactful teambuilding event, book our Make Boulder Better Ride for an inspiring tour of their operation and chance to pack and decorate care packages for famili
Commitment to Sustainability
Beyond Boulder Adventures supports sustainable tourism initiatives through participation in the Care for Colorado Coalition and Colorado Green Business Network. Wendy also serves on the board for a new sustainable tourism initiative called GoGood Travel.
We participate in several community organizations, as active members of the Boulder Chamber of Commerce, the Boulder Hotel Motel Association, and the Boulder Convention & Visitor's Bureau.
We also partner with many local non-profits and small businesses in Boulder to enhance the guest experience on our tours and ensure that our success supports the success of our whole community.
